In The Beginning, I was brought up Christian, Methodist. I grew up learning to love Jesus. Grandma and Mom always said, “You should go to church”. They encouraged me to join the children’s choir because they liked my voice and I loved to sing—so many memories. Jesus has always been a big part of my life.
It wasn’t until I met my now ex-husband, that I fully returned to Jesus and got baptized by water immersion. However, it wasn’t until I went to college that I first gave my life to Jesus. I had discovered I was pregnant and the father completely walked out of the picture. My family and friends, however, did not walk away. They choose to remain by my side, just as God always has.
My college friends and I discovered a church that, while Catholic, was very much about preaching the gospel and giving your life to Jesus. Something I was not used to. It was so wonderful and I truly thought I was home. Sometimes, I wonder why I ever left that church.
But, my parents wanted me back home after the second semester ended so I could raise my son back home. Well, as much as I disagreed with them in my head and my heart, I finally gave in and I decided to try it their way. I am, in many ways, glad I did. I now have 3 more beautiful children. Moving back home also led me to find a new church home. Finally, I felt all the same love and emotions of my previous church.
So, why My Christian Keepsakes? Well, after being a daughter, sister, mother, wife, and worker in almost every area of customer service you can think of, I decided to do the one thing I have always wanted to do. Touch others’ hearts and minds with the word of God. I had tried other online businesses, practically every kind. I needed to find the right one to spread Jesus’ love. I pray I can bring just one person to the waters and show them the love of God. Then it will all have been worth it.
